About Gangotri :
Gangorti is a Hindu Pilgrimage site located in uttarkashi District, Uttarakhand, India. it is one of the four holiest shrines in hinduism known as "Char Dham" pilgrimage sites it along with Yamunotri, Kedarnath and Badrinath.Gangotri is the origin point of the river Ganges one of the holiest rivers in Hinduism temple dedicated to Goddess Ganga it is located near the source of the river it is perched at an altitude 3,048 meters above sea level. the temple was built by the hindus warriors king Bhagiratha in the 18th century and it is made of white marble.
According to Hindu mytholog, Ganga is the heavens on the earth to ourify our sour of king bhaguratha ancestors. the temple is considered a symbol of purity and divinity it is visited millions of pilgrims in every year.
The temple town of Gangorti is surrounded by the majestic himalayan range and is accessible by road from uttarakashi.the journy to gongotri is a scenic one and the temple town provided stunning views of the surrounding mountain.
